Leap into Favor—Part 3
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord (Lk. 1:41-45).
Have you ever had a word or impression that went straight to your heart? Before you even had time to think about it, something deep within you responded with a giant “Yes!”
What happened? Your spirit to Spirit connection kicked into action, immediately responding to God’s Presence. Later, your brain may have caught up with you and said, “What?!” That’s often the way things work with God. But your spirit picked up on the vibration of God’s Glory song and leaped for joy in recognition of HIM.
When God speaks, His words carry His glory, power, promise and presence. They are alive with the same creative power that boomed, “Let there be Light!” forming galaxy upon galaxy of star-studded wonder and delight. His words hang in the atmosphere pregnant with the power of their purpose until the fullness of time when God brings them into being.
We are in that season now! This is God’s Year to Act. He wants to set our compasses by His Presence and glory, so we can leap forward into the opening He is creating for our advance now.
How do you make the leap?
When Jesus’ teachings began to mess with the religious mindset of His day, many of His followers found His words too hard to swallow and went their own ways. He asked His disciples if they were going to leave, too. Peter said, “You have the words of life.” Even though Peter didn’t understand with his natural mind, He recognized another vibration that was life giving even as his mind was offended. He chose to leap forward in harmony.
What God is doing in our day is way bigger than our minds can conceive, it may even offend our sensibilities or the way we think things ought to be. Be ready to make a shift out of old religious mindsets and limitations based on what has happened in the past, and respond to where His Presence is leading.
You know that day Zechariah was ministering in the Temple and Gabriel showed up with a birth announcement? Zechariah couldn’t quite wrap his mind around the possibility that he and Elizabeth could have a child. He and Elizabeth had most likely chocked their barrenness into the, “it must be God’s will” department, quit praying, and moved on. The fact was, by the time God’s messenger showed up, their biological clocks had ticked right past the time for their family to grow.
But in God’s book, it was time! He wasn’t giving old Zach and Elizabeth just any child. He was giving them the child prophesied of by Isaiah and Malachi hundreds of years before. The kairos to unfurl His salvation to all the earth had come:
You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared (Lk. 1:14-16).
In order to keep your heart receptive to respond and recognize God’s glory, be willing to consider God’s timetable is not limited by yours! In one moment of His glory He can draw you into the kairos for not only your prayer, but also the prayers of generations to come to pass. Has your heart leaped in the past, and now you’re wondering whether you heard God? Stay plugged in. He’s bringing together something glorious that can only come out of His Presence in His kairos time.
When Zechariah questioned the message Gabriel delivered, God’s messenger didn’t argue according to human logic, he simply said, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the Presence.”
There are two ways we can respond to God’s word: From our natural thinking, “How can this be? That’s not the way things work. It’s too late for that to ever happen.” Or from the Presence: “I don’t understand, but I recognize the signature of Heaven on this, the vibration of Glory, and I believe God will do what He says He’s going to do.”
Contrast for a moment Zechariah’s response with Mary’s after Gabriel came with another impossible conception message. She said, “I don’t understand, but I see. Be it unto me.”
What did Mary see? The Presence. She recognized the glory, and leaped into harmony with God’s glory song to conceive that life-giving Word in her person to bring life and salvation to every generation.
The Presence is the signature of Heaven. It is the compass point by which we set our course in our faith-walk. Faith will lead us to Presence, and His Presence leads us to promise. Let His Presence be your compass point by which you order your life, your emotions, and your relationships. Recognize where His grace is flowing, and you will become a carrier of His promise for you, your family, and others.
The next time we see Mary, she is visiting Elizabeth. As soon as she got in the door, John recognized the Presence that filled Mary’s womb from within Elizabeth’s belly. His deep responded to the Presence, and his tiny body leaped for joy, and Elizabeth was filled with the Spirit. A glory bubble of joy filled that room, and Elizabeth and Mary began to prophecy in harmony with heaven’s song.
We know the journey of heartbreak that Mary would take, living under the shadow of accusation and suspicion of promiscuity, and then watching her Son die a cruel death on the cross. But God saw her victory from the beginning. Her song was the real story of her life’s joy. She sang in harmony with the Spirit of God who had come on her and done something that was marvelous, supernatural, and glorious:
My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever (Lk. 1:46–55).
It is easy to get drawn into the details of our every day hardships, trials, and press of living in a fallen world. But there is another vibration from heaven around the throne, where God’s redemption reigns over all the earth. God wants us to make the leap into His atmosphere so you see, declare, and draw heaven’s reality into earth’s. Cultivating your joy, praise, and thanksgiving will keep you singing the Lamb’s song of victory, and your heart leaping in joy. It will open your eyes to recognize His Spirit, and see even opposition and challenges as the opening God has made for you to leap into His promises for you and future generations.
This is your kairos season to recognize and respond to the words and promises of God by the Spirit. God is synchronizing your time-line with heaven’s. Whatever your situation, background, circumstances, this is an hour divinely appointed by God for you to leap into harmony with the vibration of His glory. Your life may have been on pause, like Elizabeth and Zechariah’s, but God is getting ready to push “play.” Some of you may feel like you’ve been going in reverse, God’s getting ready to bring your turnaround. This is God’s Year to Act. Let your spirit leap, and make a shift in your thinking to lay hold of His promise and advance in 2012.
Leap Forward and Advance!
