Korea’s Finest Hour
In 1907 the coals of revival that first leapt into flame in Wales and then swept through Azusa and set the world ablaze landed in Pyongyang, Korea. The nation had only recently opened to receive the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit drew thousands of new believers out of darkness into the Kingdom in a matter of days. Like Pentecost of old, the fire that fell spread throughout Korea, and Pyongyang became known as the Jerusalem of the East. The end of a thing is better than the beginning (Ecc. 7:8). God’s destiny for Korea was revealed in the awesome outpouring of that awakening!
Pyongyang’s revival wellspring is still there. God’s plan and destiny for Korea still stands. He is pouring fresh fire from heaven on the South, and we believe His glory is arising to enfold all of Korea in a display that will astound the nations. The old revival wells are being uncapped. The seeds sown in 1907 are awakening to a fresh drink from heaven. This is the hour for miracles. This is God’s year to act!
Old Wounds Healed
Just before leaving to minister in Korea, I, Bonnie, had a vision during the Watch of the Lord. I saw a map and along the border between North and South Korea, I saw an old, ragged bandage that covered what looked like a deep and mortal wound. Just then, a hand came down from heaven and began to draw the bandage off of the border. To my surprise, instead of the festering wound or deep scar I expected, there was no evidence or scar to mark where the division had once been. The nation was no longer divided by a border barrier, and the land was whole!
God, not man, sets the boundaries of every people and nation (see Acts 17:26). The Creator set them in place before the foundations of the world. The boundary that divides North from South is the intervention of man intent on occupying the rich revival heritage and if it were possible, prevent God’s glory from watering the nations.
The legacy of prayer and the great faith of the Korean people are drawing down heaven’s supernatural help in favorable times. A page has turned. A SHIFT is in the making. A new chapter is being written for Korea. Jesus holds the church there as an arrow in His quiver, blazing with the fire of heaven for the nations.
The God of Angel Armies is rising with healing in His wings. Korea’s set time is now. May the Holy Spirit rain down in power to reassign the ancient boundaries, restore inheritances and desolations, and set captives free (see Is. 49:8-9). Let the well of revival with signs, wonders and miracles spring up in the South, overflow into the North and break thru to China, until the river of Glory reaches all the way back to Jerusalem.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty
While ministering to in Korea we heard the sound of glory. The Holy Spirit is singing songs of deliverance over the old strongholds of heartbreak, poverty, division, legalism, and spiritual bondage. As Korea flings open the doors to the Holy Spirit, a fresh season of freedom and unity is coming to the nation. [VIDEO CLIP]
Korea’s destiny is to inherit nations. Spiritual and physical barrenness is being broken. May every household, every church and family step into the sound coming from heaven. Korea’s atmosphere is pregnant with a strong anointing for women who were barren to be healed. We are anticipating seeing a lot of new children, natural and spiritual, when we return next year!
Everywhere we went to minister, we met hungry, humble, holy believers who flung wide the gates for the Holy Spirit to come in! [VIDEO CLIP]
Many thanks to Pastor Hur and the representatives of Pure Nard for the invitation to help bring the glory in South Korea in this hour. Our many new and old friends refreshed our hearts and there are testimonies pouring in from everywhere. Praise the Lord.
We spent three days in Seoul at Great Faith Church. We were so pleased to connect with our new spiritual family, Pastor Byun, his team, and congregation have their hearts and hands stretched out to serve the Lord and His purpose for Korea and beyond in this hour. The glory was there to meet the truly great faith and amazing hearts of the people gathered there to drink in everything the Lord had for them. The Lord is doing a fresh work in the next generation. We saw many young people radically touched as well as salvations, baptisms in the Holy Spirit, healing, and deliverance. On the last night we laid hands on and prayed for impartation for more than 2,500 people. [VIDEO CLIP]
On Sunday we ministered at YoungDong First Church and the wonderful vibrant, Holy Spirit loving group of radical believers. It was so good to reconnect with our good friend, Pastor Kim who has faithfully raised up a company who host a tangible presence of the Holy Spirit in their gatherings. While we were there Youngshin, a Korean dentist who had traveled all the way to our church in Charlotte, NC for healing prayer, shared that she was completely healed of thyroid cancer! [VIDEO CLIP]
The next day we went about 1½ outside of Seoul where we spent 3 days ministering to about 400 pastors. We were blown away by the humility, radical hunger, and openness of the Korean pastors. We met many pastors who have just recently awakened to the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Some are bringing their churches that had traditionally rejected the Holy Spirit along with them. Others have been forced out of their churches in order to embrace the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We ministered personally to pastors who are on the front line of bringing the gospel to regions of Korea less than 2% of the population knows Jesus. They were hungry for revival and desired impartation for miracles and power evangelism in order to reach the people in their cities.
We returned to Seoul where we spent an additional 3 days ministering to local believers that included students of the Pure Nard Seminary, local pastors, business leaders and missionaries. One of our highlights at this conference was when a woman who had never been to a Spirit-filled meeting before came with a friend to our meeting and the following book signing. The atmosphere was still charged with the Holy Spirit’s presence, and as people got close to the table where we were, they were spontaneously getting ministered to. Several people received powerful deliverance. Then this beautiful woman stepped forward. The Holy Spirit began to touch her heart, heal her wounds, and then as we watched, fill her and bubble up in her new spiritual tongue! [VIDEO CLIP]
We had the delight of Pastor Oem and his worship warriors from Glory of Zion who accompanied us for several days. We can still hear their sound like a holy rock opera! You can hear snippets of their worship on the YouTube videos we posted.
We are so looking forward to our visit next year. We invite you to join us as we add our faith to our Korean family in prayer and support.
Can you Pray for My Father?
A young man emailed our office when he heard we would be in Korea. He said his father had just been diagnosed with late-stage cancer that had metastasized throughout his body. His father was in the hospital in Seoul and he asked if we could come pray. We emailed back, inviting him to come to the meeting that night so we could pray lay hands on him and pray for his father. He did, bringing his mother with him. They both got radically touched during the meeting, coming forward to get baptized in the Holy Spirit! You can see that the son is carrying a bag with his father’s clothing in it to use as a point of contact. [VIDEO CLIP] [VIDEO CLIP]
Breaking the Curse of Cancer
This couple came hungry for the glory. When I gave this word of knowledge, I did not know that he was fighting a rare form of Leukemia that has no medical treatment. Soon after we returned home, we received a beautiful letter from this couple.
Even though we always have been seeking God's presence since I was sick of leukemia, we couldn't realize how glorious God's presence is— his gracious and wonderful presence. Therefore, we had been seeking God just for healing. However, now we are seeking God's presence not only for healing but also for his glory, love, and wonderfulness. Please tell Mahesh and Bonnie that God's presence with them changed our viewpoint of God's presence radically…To pursue the presence of God has become our real goal in our lives. [VIDEO CLIP]
