Watch Focus: Repentance for the Horror of Abortion

Friday, Jul 31, 2015 In recent days three videos have been released exposing the horrors of the abortion industry in America. The first was footage of a doctor describing the potential of selling aborted babies’ body parts while enjoying a lunch drinking wine. The second featured an abortionist discussing prices for the harvesting of baby organs, joking she wanted an expensive sports car.

The third video released this week had an interview with a technician on the procurement of tissue from aborted babies. One could see tiny arms and spinal tissue in petri dishes while Planned Parenthood doctors haggled over the price of the baby’s body parts.

Christians have once again been struck with horror at the widespread killing of innocent babies in the womb all across this nation. 55 million babies have been aborted in the U.S. since 1973. Some estimate more than a billion have been aborted world-wide since 1980. Christians are further grieved that the greatest agent of abortion is tax-supported Planned Parenthood. Our hearts cry out in grief at the heartless shedding of the blood of innocents. We say, “Father God, forgive us. We lament at the shedding of innocent blood—these babies made in Your image have been discarded like trash instead of being honored and protected as sacred.

We confess our sin as a nation that has been blessed with plenty, yet we allow this horror. We come to You Father on the basis of the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary, asking for mercy for our land. Forgive, Lord, and cleanse us. You have said, “If we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 Jn. 1:9). Lord, cleanse and heal our land. Let there be ongoing national repentance for abortion. May there be a turnaround in our nation in regards to Planned Parenthood and in our media. Bind the powers of witchcraft and manipulation that blind so many with to the killing of the unborn.

Luke 1:36, 41, “Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren…And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Ps. 139:13-16, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”

Jer. 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Prov. 6:16-17, “These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him; a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood.”

Job 31:15; Deut. 27:27; Isa. 49:15; 2 Tim. 3:3
