Weekly Watch Focus: Peace on the Korean Peninsula

Friday, March 17, 2017—Last week, North Korea launched four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, a provocative act protesting the cooperation of the U.S., South Korea, and Japan in defensive military exercises. North Korea continues to flaunt UN sanctions and pursue an intercontinental nuclear weapons arsenal. While South Korea is democratic, free, and prosperous, with millions who honor Christ, North Korea has been under communist oppression for over sixty years. Kim Jong-un, the current dictator, holds the nation in a yoke of terror and starvation with many of its citizens being held in concentration camps. North Korea is a constant threat to its neighbors.

Pray for the protection of South Korea, Japan, and the U.S. forces stationed in the area. Bind back and pray for the neutralization of any nuclear threats from North Korea. Pray for wisdom for the Trump administration as they respond to the North Korean threats and work with local leaders to protect the region from their belligerent neighbor. Cry out for North Korea to turn to Christ, may the tyrannical yoke of darkness be broken soon so they may live in freedom. Pray for the Spirit of revival to sweep the entire peninsula in a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

We also pray for continued wisdom and protection for President Trump, Vice President Pence, their families and their cabinet. May the God of Angel Armies guard and protect our leaders and the Lord anoint them for leadership in this hour.

Is. 61:1-2, "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,  to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

Is. 60:1-2, "Arise, shine; for your light has come!  And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you."

Ps 33:10-11, “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.”

Romans 11:28-29, “Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
