Weekly Watch Focus: Bind Violence in Our Nation
FRIDAY, May 3, 2019—In recent weeks, our nation has been rocked by acts of violence and terror from the Poway Synagogue shooting on April 27th, to the thwarted terror attacks in LA, to the campus shooting at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. As Watchmen, we stand on the walls of our nation and pray for God’s peace and supernatural shalom to reign over the cities in our entire nation. Bind the spirits of violence, anti-Semitism, division, terror, and hate that are spurring on these attacks in our nation. Agree for deliverance for those bound in gang cultures and addiction. Pray for your city and welcome Holy Angels of God to guard every neighborhood. Pray for wisdom for our civic and government leaders. May they use their influence for calm and healing and not for stirring up further division, anger, and hate. Pray for the Lord to raise up leaders in the cities who are anointed with His wisdom and authority to bring peace. Pray for supernatural angelic protection for the police officers and first-responders primarily responsible to keep peace and order in our cities. Pray for a shield around churches and synagogues in your city. Welcome the Holy Spirit to your city and pray for awakening to bring city-wide revival and transformation.
We especially pray for all those mourning the loss of their family and loved ones in the recent attacks in CA and NC. We thank the Lord for the heroes like Lori Gilbert Kaye, Oscar Stewart, Jonathan Morales, and Riley Howell who arose in the midst of crisis to confront their attackers and save the lives of others. Lori Kaye and Riley Howell made the ultimate sacrifice. May the Lord bless their families for their great loss and comfort all who mourn.
