God of All Comfort

Saturday March 21, 2020

“And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time—an unshakeable hope! We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold,  and where Jesus, our forerunner, has gone in before us. He is now and forever our royal Priest like Melchizedek” (Hebrews 6:18-20 TPT).

One of the first things I remember learning in church as a child was a little song with hand motions:

The wise man built his house upon the rock.
The wise man built his house upon the rock.
The wise man built his house upon the rock, and the rains came tumbling down.
The rains came down and the floods came up.
The rains came down and the floods came up.
The rains came down and the floods came up, and the wise man’s house stood firm!

Ark of Safety

The anchor for our lives is firmly fixed in a secure place beyond this earthly realm. People of faith have a foundation to stand on that is very different from the deck of life’s ship: a personal, revealed relationship with Jesus, a personal, revealed relationship with the Holy Spirit, and His living words in our Bible. When the storms of life strain and stress your ship, strengthen your foundations. The Word of God and the assurance of His presence will hold fast—even when it seems that everything is falling apart around you. And you become an ark of comfort and safety for others, beginning with your family. The old story of Noah’s ark rising above the floodwaters is a type of those who have made the Most High their refuge. Noah means “comfort.” Think for a moment what it was like for Noah to build a ship in a place where there wasn’t a single body of water to launch it onto. Everybody was calling Noah crazy. But God was telling him to build and ark. A boat which was not for escape, but for provision for others to ride out a storm that was coming—“And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you... .” Gathering the animals in pairs and building stalls to keep and care for them is a story in itself! Imagine being in that ark with family members under stress and a boatload of animals to keep calm, feed, and clean up after!

The Comforter has come. An ark of safety and provision Who never fails. He has come not just for you but for your family, neighbors, co-workers, employer, believers and people who don’t have this same assurance and hope. Comfort someone today.

Let's Pray:

O Most High God, we declare the promises of Psalm 91 over our nation and loved ones: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him, I will trust.” Today we place (insert the name of your children, grandchildren, family members, neighbors, healthcare professionals, local leaders, President Trump, Vice President Pence and his task force, especially Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx, Dr. Jerome Adams, Dr. Stephen Hahn (members of the Task Force)), in the secret place where Your glory dwells. Give them stamina of mind, body, and spirit. I come before the mercy seat, and plead the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Lord, let your glory overshadow the coronavirus pandemic. Stretch forth Your hand to heal, and with signs and wonders make this virus of no effect. We bind the demonic power behind this contagion and loose the power of the wonderful name of Jesus. Protect our nation today. Protect our grandparents today. Protect our children today. We lift the name of Jesus as a covering for America and the nations. In Jesus name, Amen!

We are confident and covering you and yours. Send your prayer requests to us at hotline@chavdaministries.org. Join us online for the Watch of the Lord, and see you ONLINE this Sunday at 10 a.m. We will continue on this journey with Apostle Paul here tomorrow!
