Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for China
FRIDAY, July 17, 2020—Pray for believers and those hungry for democracy in Hong Kong. The national security law passed last month by the communist Chinese Standing Committee ended Hong Kong’s autonomy, and many Christians fear that they will now face the same reprisals and restrictions as Christians in mainland China. Pro-democracy demonstrators and medical professionals who have brought to light unfavorable data of the Communists party handling of COVID-19 are also being targeted. Pray for the safety of all those seeking refuge from the Communist Party. Bind back the strongman threatening to expand the region under Communist control. At the same time, we have heard reports that there is great revival breaking out in China. Pray for the underground Church in China and all those who call on the name of the Lord.
Part 2: Ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic
COVID-19 continues to spread with new hotspots developing across the U.S. We continue to pray for the Lord to show His mercy and healing power for America. Bind back the spread of this disease. Pray for a breakthrough in treatment including a vaccine that will neutralize this virus. Pray for a turnaround for our economy and all those whose lives have been disrupted by this outbreak. Thank the Lord for all those working on the front lines in our medical community, and pray for their safety.
Isaiah 61:1-2, "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
