In Tune

Friday, April 3, 2020

“I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!” (Exodus 15:1).

Have you ever found yourself humming the tune or singing the lyrics of a song that comes from somewhere deep inside? The melody rises and preempts any particular engagement of the mind. Gradually, you bring your whole being into harmony with the melody. In a few moments you are driving along singing at the top of your lungs, transported, refreshed, rejoicing. When you arrive at your destination and step out of your car, the atmosphere that follows you fills the room and lifts the hearts of all where you are going. The Message translation of the Bible has this wonderful description:

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly. “The Father has given me all these things to do and say. This is a unique Father-Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge. No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does. But I’m not keeping it to myself; I’m ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen. . . . Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace” (Matthew 11:27–29 MSG).

Storm warriors are designed to be “in tune” with God in every situation. We become His emissaries as we pick up the vibration of His glory. The song of storm warriors is a faithful chorus of those who know their God. Our lives become His song. It is a song of love. A song of victory. A song of hope and of power. A song of those who accept the call to subdue kingdoms and do exploits in God’s name.

And what more shall I say [about those] who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. . . . They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated—the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect (Hebrews 11:33–34, 37–40, NIV).

Be full of faith. Listen for His song. It’s the voice of the blood speaking a better word. It lifts from the pages of your Bible to strike the chords of your heart. It’s the song of the Lamb in the testimony of believers. It moves on the melody of unforced rhythms of grace.

“The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).

Lord, open our ears to hear the songs of Your deliverance in our midst. Lord, we pray for a new song to arise from within our nation. A song in tune with Your good plans for us. Open our hearts to sing along. Lamb of God, return the sound of rejoicing that our mouths be filled with laughter once again. Waken us from sleep and release the sound of comfort for every anxious heart. Release a song of healing over our hospitals, nurses, and doctors, we pray. Release a song of courage for every leader of every undertaking to overcome the corona scourge. Release a song of Your wisdom for our President and his team. We lift our voices in praise and say, “Be enthroned O King of Glory; Let the train of Your robe fill our land!”

We are confident and covering you and yours. Send your prayer requests to us at hotline@chavdaministries.org. Join us online for the Watch of the Lord, and see you ONLINE this Sunday at 10 a.m.
