Weekly Watch Focus: Abortion, Slavery, and Human Trafficking

FRIDAY, January 18, 2013 On this, the 40th anniversary of legalized abortion in America, let us repent for all the innocents that have been killed in our nation through abortion. Pray for mercy and a turnaround regarding this evil act of violence. Let us also pray for the more than 30 million victims of human trafficking and sex slavery across the globe (according to the U.S. State Dept.). May there be increased action against this modern day slavery. Pray for the rescue of these millions of victims. May God strengthen and protect those helping to put a stop to this heinous exploitation through modern day slavery and human trafficking.

Jer. 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Ps. 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

Prov. 24:11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.

Gal 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

Lk 4:18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”

Mtt 25:35-40 “For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;  I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
