Weekly Watch Focus: Revival in Iran

Friday, March 11, 2016—Many of the nations, including Israel, have great concern about Iran. We give thanks that there is an underground revival happening in Iran right now. The Christian Post reports that hundreds of thousands of Iranian Christians are worshiping secretly in a rapidly accelerating house church movement. Despite intense persecution by the Iranian authorities, the movement is spreading like fire. The despotic Muslim Iranian government considers the church movement a threat to the nation’s Islamic identity and is imprisoning hundreds of Christians for worshiping Christ. The persecution has caused the spreading and blossoming of the house church movement. Pray for protection for believers in Iran. Ask for God’s covering and grace for the many young church leaders. These leaders are receiving training through various covert means. Informed sources believe that this revival of Christian faith has resulted in a million Iranians receiving Christ as their Savior. Pray for special grace for the many satellite broadcasts watched by thousands of hungry Iranians.

This Easter season we particularly celebrate the billions receiving Christ across the globe even under great threats of persecution. This week we give praise for the move of God in Iran and various other nations. May there be a continuing wave of millions more converted to the gospel with signs, wonders, and miracles.
