Weekly Watch Focus: Economic Recovery: Pursue, Overtake, Recover All

Friday, September 9, 2016—Our economy is still recovering from the longest season of recession in our history. Ninety-four million Americans are jobless, and millions more are on food stamps, unable to feed their families without government help. Creeping socialism is bringing us into financial collapse, stifling entrepreneurship and hurting businesses.

Cry out to God on behalf of our children. Break the chains of economic slavery over our nation, children and grandchildren. May we choose wise and godly leaders in the upcoming elections, triggering a change in direction. God, lead us once again on paths of economic restoration so we may not borrow and be strong to help the poor in the nations. May these leaders honor biblical principles in shaping policies, plans, and government spending and taxation. As we fast and repent and seek God’s face, Lord, hear our cry. May we have economic restoration and above all a great spiritual awakening.

1 Sam. 30:6 “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Joel 2:18, 23-25, “Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, and pity His people. Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you—the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
