Weekly Watch Focus: God's Peace for America
June 5, 2020—Pray for God’s supernatural peace to reign over America where demonstrations following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a policeman have escalated into violent riots in many cities across America. Specifically pray for God’s peace and calm to return to Minneapolis, New York City, Washington D.C., Atlanta, St. Louis, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and other cities that have been torn by out-of-control rioting, looting, and arson. Bind the human agitators and demonic forces using this man’s tragic death and ensuing national grief to create havoc and racial division in our society. Take authority over the plans of the enemy to sow division, discord, violence, and destruction. Loose God’s warring angel armies over our nation. Pray for God’s supernatural shalom to calm this great storm. Ask for God’s rod of righteousness and justice to go out across our nation so that ancient divisions of pain, bigotry, and injustice be healed. Prophesy that what the enemy meant for harm will become a time of great turnaround, healing, and restoration. Lift up the name of Jesus over your city and declare the glory of the Lamb of God over our nation. We humble ourselves and cry out according to God’s promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “Lord, heal our land!”
Part 2: Coronavirus Recovery
Thank the Lord that the coronavirus pandemic is subsiding. Pray for healing for those who are battling this virus. Continue to cover our health professionals and those who are most vulnerable to infection. Pray that that recent events will not result in a resurgence of infection.
2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
Jeremiah 29:7, “Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for it its peace you will have peace.”
Matthew 18:18, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-19, “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”
Psalm 85:6-7, “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation.”
Colossians 2:15, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
