Weekly Watch Focus: Terror in Nice, France and Put on the Armor of God

Friday, July 15, 2016—Pray for Nice, France. The most recent reports state that there are 80 dead, and hundreds injured, many very seriously, as a truck purposely smashed into a massive crowd celebrating Bastille Day, with a terrorist shooting from the vehicle that was loaded with guns and explosives.

Once again, this is radical Islamic terrorism striking at major cities in the West. Pray for grieving families. Keep binding the demonic principality driving radical Islam. Pray the Lord’s protection for America, and other nations threatened by radical Islamic terror. Pray that law enforcement services will have supernatural wisdom to handle this challenge, and stop the heinous plots of terrorism.

2 Cor. 1:3-4, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

Ps. 91:5-6, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.”

Ps 125:2, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.”

Deut. 20:4, “For the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

Ps. 18:37, “I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.”

Part II: Put on the Whole Armor of God

It is essential that believers in this hour have a committed lifestyle of prayer, praise, and worship. As we confront major issues in our nation and the world, the Lord has had me urging all believers to also put on the whole armor of God, so that we may come out victorious against the principalities and powers that we are faced with.

Our nation is facing a critical election in November. The Supreme Court candidates chosen by the next president will determine the world our children will have to live in for the next twenty years or more.

We face an ongoing threat from radical, Islamic terrorism authored by terror organizations such as ISIS. Many in the U.S. are disheartened by the corruption and confusion they see daily in different branches of our government and media.

As we battle for our Judeo-Christian values, may we be encouraged by the words of Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”

Putting on the armor of the Lord will be a major key to assuming victory and binding back the forces intent on harming our nation, dividing our citizens, and erasing our Judeo-Christian foundations. May we devote ourselves to increased prayer in the Spirit, pleading the blood of Jesus, and take up every spiritual resource to turn back the enemy in this battle for our nation's future.

2 Cor 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”

Rom 13:14, “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
