Greater Works

The works that I do [you] will do also; and greater works than these [you] will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12

Jesus’ works began in the wilderness where He was tested by the devil. Forty days earlier the heavens opened and God’s audible voice had declared, “This is My Son in whom I’m well-pleased.” Now, when He was weak, tired and probably feeling anything but the Son of God, the devil came and challenged, “If you are the Son of God…” Jesus held up God’s word in the face of every one of the devil’s taunts. He came out in the power of the Holy Spirit. Testing is the gateway to authority for greater works.

What circumstances challenge the promises God has spoken to you for your life, your family, your nation?

Prayer:
Father God, I hold up your word in the face of every challenge that is coming against me, my family and my nation. Make me even more hungry for your Word and sensitive to voice of the Holy Spirit. May I see the greater works in my generation.

There is one thing that God has clearly commanded every one who calls on His name to pray for: Jerusalem. It is the city He calls by His name.
Jesus asked an amazing question related to prayer: “When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” In other words, Jesus is saying that your faith is directly expressed by your prayer life.
In Luke 18:1-8, the widow demonstrates the power of persistent, insistent and focused prayer.
The enemy hates prayer, particularly corporate prayer, because he knows that when two or more come into agreement with the Holy Spirit, the devil will lose every time.
