Persistent Prayer - Part 1

“And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?” (Luke 18:7).

In Luke 18:1-8, the widow demonstrates the power of persistent, insistent and focused prayer. The widow finally got justice from the unrighteous judge because she continually kept her case before him. The One we are coming to is the Righteous Judge. How much more will He give His favor to those who are persistent in prayer?

Meditate on Luke 18:7. Write down three things that you need the Righteous Judge to avenge, bring His justice, righteousness and peace to today. Perhaps some of them are areas that seem beyond hope of reconciliation. But step out in fresh faith today, and begin to remind the Lord day and night of His promises for that situation.

Jesus asked an amazing question related to prayer: “When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” In other words, Jesus is saying that your faith is directly expressed by your prayer life.
In Luke 18:1-8, the widow demonstrates the power of persistent, insistent and focused prayer.
The enemy hates prayer, particularly corporate prayer, because he knows that when two or more come into agreement with the Holy Spirit, the devil will lose every time.
