Weekly Watch Focus: Rosh Hashanah—We Honor the Feasts of the Lord

FRIDAY, September 14, 2012. The Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) and the Ten Days of Awe begin Sunday evening with the blowing of the shofar. We are entering the appointed time on the Hebrew calendar leading up to the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. We honor our Judeo-Christian foundations that have guided this blessed nation, and repent of any spirit of arrogance, pride, and rebellion. Pray for revival and repentance so that times of refreshing may come from the Presence of the Lord. Let us enter in again to the finished atoning work of Jesus at Calvary. In solidarity with our Jewish friends around the world, we pray for God’s blessing and peace during this time of awakening from slumber and turning back to serve the Living God. We speak blessing and protection for Israel and the IDF.

Lev. 23:23-25, Joshua 5:6, Num. 29:1, “And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work.  For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets.”

Jn. 1:29 “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

Micah 17:18-20 "Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue ouriniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You willgive truth to Jacob and mercy to Abraham, as You have sworn to our fathers from days of old."
