Weekly Watch Focus: America - We Turn to God
FRIDAY, September 27, 2012. Before this historic presidential election, we turn to cry out to God, humbling ourselves with fasting, seeking His face, turning frompride, wickedness, and rebellion. Lord, hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and begin to heal our land. Give us the president of Your choosing, who may lead us in paths of restoration and righteousness. Give us also a Congress who willfollow the ways that would please You and bring blessing to our nation. In Your mercy, Lord, give us leaders that would restore our economy so all Americans may find employment that America may continue to be a strong defender of freedom and true friend and ally to Israel. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, restore our land economically, morally, and culturally. May America continue to be a land of liberty and champion for our freedom to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
We repent that a majority of the elite at a national political convention booed God and booed His chosen city, Jerusalem. Lord forgive us and heal us. In your mercy, restore our Judeo-Christian foundations. We declare the Lordship of Jesus Christ over the United States of America in this critical hour before this election. Give the people called by Your name a victory. Defeat those who deny God. In Your mercy, give us a fresh start Nov. 6.
2 Chron.7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chron. 20:9,12 "If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save… We have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”
1 Tim 2:1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. |
